Using the traditional folk art method of Uttarakhand, a cotton cloth is coated with cow dung and cow urine, then coated with ochre clay, and handmade colors such as turmeric, indigo powder, and vermillion.

The Importance of Cow Urine:

Cow urine is considered very important in the scriptures. It is used to remove negative energy and Vastu defects and to remove obstacles in auspicious endeavors.

The Importance of Cow Dung:

According to Vastu Shastra, cow dung is considered extremely sacred and effective. It removes all negative energies from the home and maintains the flow of positive energy.

Importance of Ochre Clay:

It is used for ritualistic purposes and to paint religious idols and structures.

Importance of Rice:

Akshat means that which is unbroken, so it also signifies concentration. In Hinduism, using rice in worship is considered very auspicious. Rice is considered the most precious of grains. Akshat symbolizes purity and completeness. Worship of any deity is incomplete without rice.

Rice is considered the purest grain because it is found within the paddy and cannot be eaten by animals or birds.

Rice is used in worship to attract power, prosperity, and peace. Many remedies are also performed involving rice. Using rice pleases Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Annapurna.
